Thursday 1 September 2016

We didn't get going as early as we should have but did get some paperwork sorted out.  No locks today just miles - the arms and legs were grateful for the break from doing locks.

We arrived at the town mooring for Macclesfield and moored up to find a supermarket.  We asked a local who pointed us in the direction of Tesco. Once we had walked there and back and put the shopping away we decided to stay put.  We'll have to have a longer day tomorrow!

It's quite wooded in places on this part of the canal.

Fancy french doors to nowhere!

Wow - that's some serious decking!

Tractor trailer,

I don't think they have been through the tunnels and under the bridges that we have - it would take some time to clear the decks!

Baa!

Hmmm - do they know something about this winter that we don't!

Granny Scarecrow!

What have we here - a boat has slipped it's mooring - not very helpful as we grounded trying to get past it!

Back in the lovely countryside.

Looking down to Macclesfield - Hilly I wonder where you grew up in relation to the canal...

Several people have said this is a great little pub - maybe try it later.

A surprisingly quiet mooring considering how close to town we are.
