Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 July 2015

It feels sooo good to be chugging again!  We left Rye House at 12ish and bumped into Rob on Weston Lady at Fielde Lock – he was also heading for Limehouse so we decided to travel together to make locking easier.  The weather was lovely so we kept going until about 9pm when we found a spot and moored alongside at Hackney Marshes,  A few drinks later and finally to bed at 1am.

Upped pins at 11am and got on the way to Limehouse.  We reached Old Ford Lock by the Olympic Park and couldn’t believe the amount of rubbish in the River – what a shame.  A kind passer-by helped Steve eventually drag a mattress out of the river just in front of the lock gates – can’t imagine who would throw such a thing into the river.  We chased a family of swans, mum, dad and 7 cygnets out of the lock and eventually filled it to carry on our journey.  Arrived at Limehouse at 1.30pm – what a great place!
