Monday 12 October 2015

We've had a great weekend with Sam and Andrew and it was lovely to see some old faces at the golf club - shame we didn't have the opportunity to play but we have the whole of the winter for that!

We left at about 9.00am - quick pit stop in Tesco, well we had a hire car so could transport the beer more easily!  Back on the boat and slipped lines at midday.  It doesn't matter how good a time we've had we always love getting back on the water.

It was sunny for most of the afternoon and felt quite warm in the sun but as soon it went behind a cloud it was quite cold.  We decided that we would do six locks and stop in Ivinghoe again as we had back in April.

We were lucky and caught up with a boat called Herbie so went through two locks with them but unfortunately they then decided to stop for lunch so we did the rest on our own.  We tried to moor just before the bridge and the recollection that we had grounded out last time we stopped here came a bit late - as we were grounding out!!

So we carried on to the other side of the bridge and stopped in exactly the same place as before!  The scenery surrounding the canal here is stunning.

Leaving our safe mooring at Wyvern Shipping Company.

Unfortunately I tried to update my "old" laptop to Windows 10 and the result was that I was no longer able to upload photos to my blog so I uninstalled it but it still won't let me upload photos - I have spent hours and hours trying and have been to PC World to buy a new laptop but they cannot set it up in less than two days so for now I will keep the blog going with the photographs to follow.
