Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July 2016

Gary and Carolyn arrived at about 12 noon, quick cup of tea and out on the town.  We sampled some of the local hostilities both in the nice side of town and the not so nice part of town but all an experience and very different to mid-week.  They are not wrong when they say Liverpool is the stag and hen party capital!  People watching has never been so interesting!

We found a great Tapas bar for lunch and an Argentinian steakhouse for dinner!
A trip to Liverpool is not complete without taking a ferry across the Mersey but as Steve and I had already done this Gary and Carolyn went off for their cruise on Sunday.  Unfortunately it poured with rain but they had good fun - thank goodness they had their pac-a-macs and a brolly!

A quick bite of lunch on board and out for a walk…in the rain.  It did stop but had kept lots of people away from the dock area so we took a ride on the wheel – amazing views from the top.  Once back on the ground we walked along the front and stopped for a glass or two overlooking the Mersey with the Liver Building as a backdrop – the sun even came out!

We had dinner in Smugglers Cove in Albert Dock then back for an early night as we have to be ready to leave at 7.45am.

These boats are hotel rooms - From the right - The Titanic, Yellow Submarine, Joker and Amazing Grace.

Enjoying a quiet drink.

Or not so quiet!

This building makes a great plant pot don't you think!

The church with no roof.

The Town Hall.

Albert Dock - alive on Saturday night.

We'll have a go on the wheel tomorrow.

Can you spot the Jellyfish?  there were loads in the dock.

Hope he is happy being in Albert Dock.

Going up - not good if you don't like heights hey boys!

The cathedral.

And the Liver Building....again!

The June Rose and a few other narrowboats!

Another great building.

Attaching padlocks to railings has really taken off here.

Why would you want to do this - scary!

Cheers!

Someone came out without his sunglasses - you will just have to close your eyes!

The Chandelier in Smugglers Cove.
