Thursday 21 and Friday 22 July 2016

Thursday we went on the City Tour Bus in the morning.  We should have done it at the beginning of the week really as we didn’t see anything that we hadn’t already walked to or past!  When we got back we decided to go back into town to get some lunch but we accidentally went on a pub crawl!

We met a couple of young lads that had just finished jury service, an old chap that I left Steve talking to as his accent was so strong that I couldn’t understand him and two ladies that were on a night out.  Everyone that we have met has been really nice and welcoming and seem generally pleased that we have enjoyed their City.

The pub crawl meant that Friday was a rest day!  A chance for me to catch up with the ironing and shopping and a chance for Steve to catch with the sofa and TV!

St Catherine's Church

Liverpool has more Grade I listed buildings anywhere in the world.....outside London!

The Mersey Tunnel - the world's largest under water tunnel - three miles.  It took nine years to dig.

Empire Theatre - reminds me of the Bank of England!

They call this building the gasometer.

Radio City Tower.

A bad photo of the Catholic Cathedral - they call it Paddies Wigwham!

That's the outside of the Philharmonic Dining Rooms.

There's our boat - second from the right! with the Anglican Cathedral dominating the skyline.

Steve having a boogie with Jane whilst Claire sings!

I must have been blurred....I don't do karaoke!

Jane and Claire - girls night out!
