The June Rose: Wednesday 20 July 2016

We were just having our morning tea when a CRT guy came and knocked on the door to say if you are ready we can get you through to Salthouse Dock. They had brought two boats out through Sid's Ditch without any problems. Even though we had been given the impression that nothing would be moving at least until Thursday, there was clearly a build up of boats waiting to get in and out and they wanted to get as many moved as possible. This meant we had a fair amount of waiting around but it was a beautiful day and we got to chug right past the “Three Graces” – The Liver, The Cunard and The Port of Liverpool Buildings.

It was great to finally get into the dock - free electric hook up and water on tap! Chance to catch up with the washing and ironing!

Goodbye Titanic Hotel - thank you for letting us stay for the last three nights...for nothing!

Albert and Salthouse Docks - here we come! That's "Sid's Ditch" in front - the bit that has caused all the problems for the last few days!

Well this is looking back at it - I didn't notice a sign at the other end!

Looking back to our neighbours who are just entering the tunnel - it's very bright out there!

Ohh look - it's the Liver Building!

Hanging around in Canning Dock waiting to go through Mann Island Lock - we have to wait for the CRT - they have collected eight of us here to go through. Unfortunately as we were the first two boats to arrive, it means we were nearest the bank, therefore last to leave to get through the lock but the sun is shining so who minds!
