Red warnings still in force this morning. A chance to get that chimney sorted out once and for all - every time we let the fire go out then light it again when it is cold outside a horrible tar runs back down the flue inside making a horrible smells and a mess!
Just before 12 noon we saw some boats coming though the lock so Steve went off to have a word with the lock keeper. He said it was ok to go as long as we motored past the weir as he was hoping to reduce the red warning to amber some time this afternoon. The guy on the boat behind us has been sat here for three days so we gave him a knock and said we were going so he came through with us.
This part of the country is really lovely and it's good to be moving again. I am not sure whether it is because it is still early in the boating season but a lot of the locks are self service whereas when we came through in July last year they were all manned. We had only been going an hour when it started to rain, then it poured but only for 20 minutes - just long enough to make sure we got really wet!
We arrived in Henley-on-Thames just after 4pm and found a nice spot to moor on the green. We met Rob and Claire for supper - great to catch up.
Friday it rained all day and we had had a late night and were feeling a little delicate so we had a walk round Henley and decided that we would stay here for another night.
