We slipped lines at 8.45am and set off with the challenge of
a flight of 11 locks ahead of us. The
sun is shining so all very pleasant – Lou and I set about refilling the locks
as we were following another boat ahead of us.
A quick pit stop to empty and refill and on our way again.
Again more beautiful countryside made especially nice as it
is spring and sunny. On through Polesworth,
Alvecote and Tamworth, through two more locks and over the Tham Aqueduct
eventually arriving at Fazeley Junction, joining the Birmingham and Fazeley
Canal. It rained in the afternoon – so hard to
believe it is the same day as this morning!
We decided to stop at a little place called Hopwas – nothing
here except some houses and two pubs – so we decided to try both! Another late night...
