We have been in Willow Tree Marina since Friday afternoon
and have caught up on some essential chores.
Embarrassed to admit that the reason we didn’t have TV for 5 nights was
that we needed to retune the TV to the aerial’s new position – you live and
learn! As a consequence of having no TV
we managed to use our GB wifi allowance for the whole month watching catch
up! We are in a place called Yeading
near to Hillingdon but we are a long way from the train station. To get to the nearest 3 shop to top up the
wifi we had to catch two buses each way which took three hours – luckily we
have all the time in the world now!
So with a new chimney hat, new door hook and more food
supplies on board we are ready to set off through London early tomorrow
morning. They hire boats from the marina
and most people choose to go towards Camden from here which we are told takes
about 5 hours. We spoke to a couple who brought their hire
boat back today and they had been to Limehouse but the only place they could
find to moor was Paddington Basin so they spent their three days cruising
around London but ended up in Paddington each night. We will just have to see where we end up – we
do have a headlight although we don’t really want to be cruising after dark.
