Wednesday 8 April 2015

Beautiful morning – didn’t rush off this morning.  Walked to Morrisons to Stock up on food and used the Marina’s laundry room to catch up on some washing – very clean and reasonable!   Pushed off at 10.15am and arrived at Lock 17 of the Northampton Arm.  Started at 10.35am and got through Lock 1 at 2.55pm – we passed two boats coming in the opposite direction so the last half of locks where empty of water so in our favour!  Stopped at Gayton Marina to buy a spare British Waterways (or should I say Canal and River Trust) key and decided to book into the Marina for the night.  We will go through Blisworth tunnel in the morning.

Happy Birthday Uncle Gary!

Moored next to 'Fairies Wear Boots' and the office in Northampton Marina

This Morgan - he lives on Fairies Wear Boots - he caught a mouse last night!

Leaving Northampton.

Probably the best lager Factory in the world - well Northampton anyway!

Arriving at Lock 17 of the Northampton Arm.

The pens only have room for one!

Under the M1.

We're getting there - lock No 2!
