Left Wollaston at 8.30am after the mist had cleared . We are aiming to get to the bottom of the
Northampton flight today (17 locks). I
have called ahead and booked us into Northampton Marina for the night on the
recommendation of Ben and Rosie whom we met at Wollaston – they are resident
there!
Great weather today. Through Doddington, Earls Barton, White
Mills, Whiston Cogenhoe, Billing, Clifford Hill, Weston Favell, Abington, Rush
Mills, and Beckets Park Locks. Parts of
this stretch of river are quite nice but lots of it is undesirable – full of
rubbish, no safety equipment at several of the locks due to persistent
vandalism. Arrived at Northampton Marina
at 4.00pm. It is an EA Marina – very
impressed!
